Random Things I Am Loving Right Now

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. I got this in that Adore Beauty serum trial pack thingie a while back, and a couple of weeks ago I sneeringly dismissed it to someone as 'ridiculously priced scented water'. I stand corrected. I am in love with this stuff - I have been using it morning and night and it makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I don't know why it works, because it seems like nothing, but it does. Sadly, it costs about elevently million dollars and there's no way in hell I can justify spending that much on a single product. But it was lovely while it lasted. *sob*

Echolife Certified Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Oil. I've been using this at night for a couple of months and I love it. Sometimes I mix it with a night moisturiser, and sometimes I just use it alone - it softens my skin and helps keep my neck and chesty bit from pruning up like a dried apple. And at just shy of $24 for 50ml it's a bargain.

Real Techniques Brushes. Blah blah blah, we all know what these are. I bought a couple on a whim from iHerb.com and I have since been fighting the urge to go back and buy every single other one. The foundation brush especially is the best one I've ever used - it blends foundation like a dream. My only complaint is that they are so dense they take forever to dry when you wash them, so that is a pretty good excuse to buy more... right?

Personal Arrogants. I talked about them in my podcast post the other day, and they're my current favourite. They talk about anything and everything relating to pop culture, nerd culture and geek culture, and they're really laidback and funny.

The Avett Brothers. As usual, it has taken me about 10 years to discover a band everyone else has been into forever. I heard a smidgeon of one of their songs on a podcast a while ago and have been utterly obsessed with them ever since. My favourite album of theirs is The Carpenter, and I've been playing it to death. They are sort of bluegrass, I guess. I never know how to describe music styles - that kind of folky, honky tonk, borderline country sound. If you like bands like Mumford and Sons and Weddings Parties Anything, you'll probably like them.

King of the Hill. I always loved this show when it was on Foxtel but I had forgotten how truly hilarious it is until I started rewatching it recently. I know a lot of people think it's dull because it's essentially a proper sitcom, despite being animated. You don't really get the hyper-real hijinks of something like The Simpsons or Family Guy. There are so many funny lines, and the characters are fleshed out (so to speak) beautifully. Bobby Hill is definitely one of my all time favourite TV characters.

Bacon Sandwiches. No explanation required.

    1. I keep hovering around the iHerb site, tempting myself with more brushes. I don't need them. I just waaaaaant them. They leave Sigma for dead.

Mind you, I just bought some cleansers on iHerb and I may or may not have slipped in one brush...

    2. Two of the Beauty Without Cruelty ones - the AHA one and the Vitamin C CoQ10 one. Also one of their toners, and a Queen Helene Mint Julep mask and oatmeal facial scrub for the Noodlemeister.

  3. How long did it take for your real techniques brushes to send through iHerb?

    1. Hi Tessa, it was a while ago so I'm not sure exactly - though I think it was about 10 days. I just got the cheapo shipping, not the express.

I've got another order I did on 25/9 that hasn't turned up yet, but all my mail has been weirdly slow lately, so I think it's more of an Auspost or customs issue than an iHerb issue.
